Digital Portraiture is a 10-week masterclass in which students will learn how to create a beautiful digital portrait, from the initial underdrawing, to the monochromatic underpainting, to the initial color block in, all the way to the finished product.

LESSON PLAN:
WEEK 1
In this first class, students will learn about the basic shapes of the head and how to construct the head using the Loomis Method.
WEEK 2
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of measurement and how to use those techniques to create a precise underdrawing from reference.
WEEK 3
In this class, students will be given the opportunity to complete their finished underdrawing.
WEEK 4
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of value, particularly as they pertain to the process of monochromatic underpainting.
WEEK 5
In this class, students will learn some techniques for blocking in basic colors as they bring their monochromatic underpaintings into the color stage.
WEEK 6
In this class, students will learn some advanced color and light theory and how to apply it to begin bringing their portraits to life.
WEEK 7
In this class, students will be given the opporunity to use all of their recently-learned fundamentals of color and value to progress in the color stage.
WEEK 8
In this class, students will learn some techniques for adding texture and detail to their portraits.
WEEK 9
In this class, students will learn some advanced Photoshop techniques as they approach the finish with their portraits.
WEEK 10
In this final class, we will have a critique of the students' finished portraits as we wrap up the 10-week course.
